Executive Team

Jeremy D. Wunsch, Founder and CEO 

Jeremy Wunsch founded LuciData Inc. in 2002 and is currently its CEO and Director of Data Forensics. With more than a decade of internal threat management and e-discovery experience, he is a leading authority in the development of internal threat management and data forensic solutions for companies and their legal counsel. Wunsch has been an expert witness for cases involving IP theft, harassment, improper use and other internal threats.  

Prior to starting LuciData Inc., Jeremy was a data recovery engineer with Ontrack, and helped create the first forensics department within the company. In addition, he has served as a consultant for companies of all sizes, from Fortune 500 to SMB and start-ups.

Jeremy co-founded the Minneapolis chapter of the International Information Systems Forensics Association (IISFA), is the author of numerous industry-related articles, a frequent national lecturer and quoted source, and is an adjunct professor at Metropolitan State University where he teaches digital evidence analysis. He holds a B.A. in marketing and a B.S. in computer science from the University of Iowa.

Cherie Mitchell, COO

Cherie Mitchell is the Chief Operations Officer for LuciData and is subsequently responsible for driving LuciData’s operations efforts which included but are not limited to: General & Operations Management, Customer Service & Satisfaction, Supply Chain Management, Account/Vendor Relations, Project Management, Program Management, Budget Tracking/Cost Reporting, Revenue & Profit Growth.

In her seven-year career within the high technology sector, Cherie has held numerous sales, operations, and senior management positions. Prior to joining LuciData, Cherie founded Sales Connexions, a company that specialized in providing channel sales strategy and support to IT Security vendors. Before founding Sales Connexions, Cherie headed up the Channel Sales Department for Tablus, Inc. where she recruited and signed 4 channel partners within her first 30 days; and the first channel deal that was closed within her first 100 days. In addition, Cherie has held senior level channel sales positions with Mail-Filters, NSD Security, Vericept and GE Access. Cherie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the Wells College in Aurora, New York.

Jeff Carr, EVP Sales & Marketing 

Mr. Carr has over 22 years experience in the computer software and network security market. For the past 8 years he has focused exclusively in development and implementation of next generation network security solutions. In his current role he drives all go to market activities for LuciData, Inc. His prior position was Vice President and General Manager, SIP Solutions Group for Borderware Technologies. Having launched this independent operating unit July 2006, Mr. Carr has rapidly built it into a recognized leader in the SIP/VoIP Security marketplace. In this role he has P&L responsibility for the business unit and managed all aspects of execution including engineering, product management, marketing, sales and finance. In June 2007 the technology was successfully transitioned to a leader in VoIP Security field as part of a strategic restructuring by BTI resulting in significant revenue to BTI.

Mr. Carr started his career with NCR Corporation where he spent 8 years in the Data Services Division until NCR’s acquisition by AT&T in 1991. He then moved to Oracle in the applications division successfully focusing on major Telco’s in the western US and Latin America. In 1997 he joined Netscape Communications as a Regional Sales Manager for Central sales. He led the central sales region increasing revenues from under $5M to $33M. Netscape was acquired by AOL in 1998 for $6+ Billion. Beginning in 2001, he has focused exclusively on early stage startup and network security markets, initially as the first VP of Worldwide Sales for Vericept Corporation, a leader in the network intelligence and information leak protection (ILP) market. After Vericept he was part of the leadership team with Ciphertrust, a highly successful email Security Company acquired by Secure Computing in 2006.

Chris Brinkworth, Director of eDiscovery Services

Mr. Brinkworth joined LuciData in 2009.  Previously he was the CEO of Juritek, a national litigation support firm he founded.  Prior to Juritek, he worked as a technology consultant with leading edge consulting firms in Minneapolis and Chicago.  At LuciData, Mr. Brinkworth oversees all data processing and analysis systems, review platforms and production systems.  He also serves in various product development for multiple vendors nationally and is actively involved in researching advanced data search and culling technologies.

 

 

 

 Wes Umemura, CIPP, CISSP, Director of Internal Threat Management Services

Mr. Umemura has over 25 years of senior level experience in the network security market and holds CISSP and CIPP certifications, industry standards for systems security and corporation compliance.  Prior to joining LuciData, Umemura was a Senior Consultant for Vericept Corporation and a Senior Technical Instructor and Sales Manager for Avaya/Lucent.  At LuciData, Mr. Umemura leads the Internal Threat Management (ITM) offering to clients with regulatory compliance requirements and enterprise IT concerned with detecting and prevent the unauthorized transmission of confidential information.
